Roxas City is a medium sized city in the province of Capiz, Philippines. It is the capital of the province and a component of the city. From 2010 , the mayor is the former vice-mayor Alan Celino Angel who was elected in the 2010 elections.

Big Chess Board in Roxas City

The "Seafood Capital of the Philippines" launches its first ever chess board. A project of the Roxas City Chess Association in cooperation of the City Government of Roxas and the associations President, Mr. Manuel Cambe.

Big Chess Board is located at the heart of the city near the Halaran Plaza.This is one of the attractive scenes in Roxas City because it could attract people. The association have everyday competition.

Liga ng mga Barangay Election Result

Roxas City - The Aunt of Mayor Angel Alan Celino was elected president of the Liga ng mga Barangay last Decemeber 7, 2010. Captain Barangay San Jose - Maria Celino Capapas with 3o votes defeated his only opponent Mongpong Barangay Captain Wilson A. Acervo Sr. with 14 votes.

He sought reelection in the recent barangay polls under the banner of Ugyon Kita Capiz. Only 46 out of the 47 barangay leaders cast their ballots because Barangay Captain Noel F. Agapito of Barangay VI was absent for some personal reasons.

Capapas promised to support her colleagues through the implementation of the projects. Through the Mayor, the Barangay officials and the city government she assured her support. Capapas running mate are Alfredo A. Albaladejo of Barangay Tiza elected as Vice-President and Barangay Captain Montaño A. Ibañez of Barangay Bolo elected as Auditor.
